Special Note: At this time, Uiscens are a closed pack. They are not open to new applications on a regular basis, and the only expansion of the pack is by breeding within the pack. If an Uiscen is ever lost, a special application process will ensue to fill the slots. Any Uiscens that become deactivated will have 5 days to return oocly and request readmission by the Luminary (a PM will usually suffice). If Uiscen Applications have not opened up yet, the Luminary is welcome to simply reinstate you. If Uiscen Applications have been opened up, and your spot has not been filled yet, you will be allowed to submit your application for the same wolf that has just left the pack, but are not guaranteed a spot. If it has been more than 5 days since your deactivation, your wolf is considered lost to the world and is not eligible to be played as a character again. These regulations may be a bit strict, however, it is the will of Pyridon and the will of the Administration to keep an active water pack!
Pack Base: The wolves of water reside in no permanent location, for even while they hold the waters of Sapphire Lake as their focus for their element and a holy place where Pyridon might speak to them, they are nomadic, such as is the water of the world is. They run all over the unclaimed territories as if a wandering river themselves. They refer to themselves as either "Uiscens" or "Water Spirits". Currently, the Alpha, or Chief Shaman, is called Emblem Eclipse.
Celestial & History:
| -- | The wolves of the lake portray their history
as being birthed from the sea, an evolved form perhaps of the fish that live
within it's depths, even though this is not possible, for truly they started out as wolves whom evolved with the water element. They call their creator Pyridon,
whom is not always thought of as a Celestial, but merely an entity that holds an ideal of
love for being close to the water and her soothing embrace and wishes them
to honor the ideals of life as water is necessary for livelihood. Of course, like the sea, the water Celestial is tempestuous and often shows displeasure easily so the wolves constantly have to keep a high standard of faith in their element to keep him appeased. Pyridon is
not portrayed with any sort of form, rather a swirling fountain of water. For
this reason, the water wolves tend to look upon occurences such as large waves or
perhaps torrential rainfall a sign of Pyridon's disfavor. Their lake is seen as the giver of life to these wolves.
The Uiscens have been disbanded as a pack twice in their history on Paragon, both times due to it's own member's lack of faith in Pyridon. This go around, as of the start of 51AE, the Uiscens have returned again due to the Shamaness Emblem Eclipse, whom gathered the water spirits from other packs that they had been trapped in and gave them back their watery lives. The pack still hangs in the balance, however, as it is one of the smallest, so it is due to the members to make a sturdy place for themselves in this world. |
Abilities In General:
The wolves of water are blessed with an affinity for the water that they love, meaning of course, that they might breathe underwater as they do upon land. They are also excellent swimmers, and are not hindered by rough waters or turbulent undertow, able to swim on course without error. However, on land they are quite slow, almost sluggish, especially in the bright sun of the day, as it dries them out more and makes them feel less in tune with their element. On land, they move half as fast as a "normal" wolf might on paw, however, in water they are twice as fast! Wolves of water must revisit a body of water (a lake, stream, river, pool, etc) once every two days (48 hours) or they begin to lose their elemental charms. The affinity that Uiscens have for the water causes them to continuously expel water from their form; an Uiscen will drip water intermittently even while simply standing out on land. They can increase or decrease this water production, meaning that they might cause themselves to be dripping wet, or merely slightly dampened.
Charms:

Rejuvenation: (The Birthright Charm) Wolves of water can use the water to their benefit, allowing themselves to heal faster from a wound if they are to spend time, at least half a day, immersed within the cool liquid. In this way, they might heal wounds, cure illness and feel completely re-energized in half the time it would normally take to recover. They might also bestow this power at a lesser level onto others, being able to soothe pains by manipulating the water onto a wolf in need. They can heal small wounds such as scrapes, bites, tears, bruises and even minor poisoning. However, broken bones, missing body parts and large gaping wounds they can only soothe the pain until it can heal on it's own.
River: (The Landright Charm) Water creation up to the size/weight of the wolf doing so. Multiple wolves together can create up to their combined size/weight. Water that is created may be used as a weapon or even a tool if the situation calls for it.
Tide: (Charm of Water's Return) Uiscens, with their affinity for the water may control already existing water as well. They can cause water to rise, to ebb or flow in a particular direction, to form a wave, or even to part if necessary. They can control limited quantities of water, no more than their own body weight in size and dimension. Of course, several water wolves working together can control water up to their combined size and weight.
Ripple: (Charm of Water's Dedication) With this charm, a wolf of water can cause a small wave of water to move through the land in front of them in one specific direction. As the water moves through the land, it causes it to soften, turning packed earth into mud, and sand into quicksand. This mud will dry up in only a few hours, returning to normal, and it does not permanently affect the land. Coming from an Alpha, this ripple can move out as far as six wolf lengths, a Beta half as much and an Omega only two wolf lengths out from his own body.
Fog: (The Samhain Charm) The wolves can create a fog that roils around them and can roil outwards from them within two wolf lengths
Flood: (The Eclipsed Charm) This charm enables the Uiscen to actually turn themselves into a watery shape that is the same size and consistency of their own. While in this shape, they may compress themselves or cause themselves to be more flowing, allowing them to move through smaller openings than they normally could (as water is liquid and can shift). They may also "wash over" objects and beings, as they cannot be physically affected while in this form. If a being is washed over while an Uiscen is in this form, they will only for a moment feel a great pressure atop them, which can be very disconcerting! The time that can be spent in this form varies with the hierarchy of the wolf in question. An Alpha may do this for up to two hours, while Betas only an hour at a time.
Shapeshift: (Charm of the Shifter)The wolf can shift into one of these water-related shapes including his own form; freshwater fish (no more than 24 inches / 2 foot in length!), duck/swan (no larger than half the size of the wolf), frog, turtle, newt. When in this form, the wolf acts as one of those creatures would, and has the abilities that one of those creatures would have; which means of course, they lose access to the other charms and abilities of their own shape. They are able to communicate with other creatures of their same type, as well as still with their own pack. With others of their own pack, it is assumed that through body language and the connection with the elements that this is still possible. As well, the shifted wolf is never larger than their original form in their shifted form and any debilitations that they might suffer in one form are directly transferred to that same area on the other. No "natural healing" is given by the ability to shapeshift. Finally, a wolf has a choice on how their pelt colors appear in this form. They may retain normal coloration that they had while a wolf, or a wolf may choose to simply manifest as a normally colored animal of that type. The eyes of the wolf never change color, however, to symbolize the ties that remain with the element.

Heirarchy: These wolves only are allowed 5 adult members at any one time. There of course is the Alpha of the water wolves, whom is also the "Chief Shaman" of all of Paragon's Shamans. Each of the other four fulfills a pack "role" as stated on the Heirarchy and Roles information. Only five adult water wolves might exist at this time unless there is breeding within the pack itself. Water wolves refer to their ranks as "spirits".
