Special Note: Wolves of the air can not be blind. Sight is needed to see where to fly, and to tell what precipices one is coming up on in their homeland. Blindness as a trait would not be a survivable one, thus any that had perhaps possessed it would be long bred out of the gene pool. As the air must be "worked" by the wolf, it is not sentient, and thus carries no scent, and flying would be impossible unless one had a death wish!
Pack Base:
The wolves of air reside in Quartz Peak, which is a very mountainous region. They live atop the mountains in secure dens in the peaks. Their pack focus is the 'Whistling Rock' - a tall spire of rock, taller than the peaks around, with holes in it that cause a whistling noise to be emitted. This structure is located in the center of their pack area, guarded by the current Alpha, a wolfess named Alora, whom lives in a den nearby.

Celestial & History:

The wolves of the air believe heavily in the spirits of the air, whom they call collectively Seraphina. They believe that Seraphina, the goddess of air (whom is viewed as a stunningly beautiful silver wolfess, that no one can look upon without going blind), placed them upon this land to revel in the glory of these beautiful lands and to be the wise ones of all the wolves, being blessed with a higher perspective and better access to the heavens.

The past lore of the Feolans is one that seems to have many different tales associated with it. One such tale tells of a pair of brothers whom had thought that their closeness with the air granted them superiority over the other wolves of the lands. It was in their minds that it was for them to rule all of the packs, not just their own, and they set out to do so, using their charms granted by the element to aid in such conquest. However, this was not something that others let slip idly by, and it is said that a wolfess appeared to stop the brothers. She was wise and wily in her ways and was able to take their charms away, effectively stopping their presumed reign over the other elements. That day, it was said that Seraphina was truly found to the wolves of the winds, for before they were not following an ideal, rather being directed along by a pair of tyrants.

Abilities In General:
These wolves do not have physical wings, but rather ethereal ones that appear when they work the air to fly, as if a semi-transparent manifestation of the air. Said manifestation can be draconic, feathery, butterfly or any such shape that is pleasing to the wolf (and realistic looking for flight). Such wings do not have to appear for the wolf to attain flight, and many simply manipulate the wind without showing off their "wings". They go at least twice as fast as a "normal" wolf on the ground while in the air. Air wolves, however, are slower on the ground than in the air, as it is not in their affinity, moving at perhaps half the speed of another wolf on paw! As well, such is the bond between wolf and the air element that a constant wind swirls about them even at rest, causing fur to ripple and sway even in areas with no breeze. This constant wind can be toned down or even increased by the wolf but never completely lost.

Charms:

Disappearance: (The Birthright Charm) Air wolves can turn temporarily invisible, in effect, causing the wind to affect the light and causing light to pass around the form, rendering it invisible to the naked eye. This effect lasts up to an half hour for the Alpha, to fifteen minutes for a Beta and only ten minutes for Omegas. While invisible, wolves themselves can affect things, but things they touch do not become invisible with them.
Stride: (The Landright Charm) The air is worked as a platform on which to step, causing the wolf to "levitate" a few feet (no more than the height of the wolf) above the ground. Any air wolf can do this for any amount of time, though they may not call any further air charms, nor fly, while doing so as it costs valuable concentration. This is valuable in areas where it is not expansive enough for true flight, but stepping over the ground is needed such as crossing a crevasse.
Gusting: (The Starfall Charm) Air manipulation to move objects up to the size of the wolf doing so. Multiple wolves doing gusting together can move objects up to their combined size/weight. This can also be used to create a "mini tornado" effect of wind swirling about the wolf in a particular direction. If used in an attempt to manipulate another's movement, an adult, normal sized wolf would merely be buffeted a bit, whereas a scrawny wolf or a pup could be knocked clear over!
Voices: (The Samhain Charm) The wolf can create unintelligible ghost sounds around the wolf up to a distance of two wolf lengths These sounds can be distracting to others or make it sound as if there are more wolves coming.
Breeze: (The Eclipsed Charm) Using the air as well as their own sounds (ie. vocal cords in a bark, howl, growl, etc), the wolf may send a directed message to another by using the air. The message must be concise or it risks having bits lost to the wind! An Alpha may breeze up to 100 miles, a Beta up to 50 miles and an Omega up to 25.
Shapeshift: (Charm of the Shifter) The wolf can shift into one of these air-related shapes including his own form; hawk (small-mid sized bird of prey), songbird, flying squerrel, butterfly, pika. When in this form, the wolf acts as one of those creatures would, and has the abilities that one of those creatures would have; which means of course, they lose access to the other charms and abilities of their own shape. They are able to communicate with other creatures of their same type, as well as still with their own pack. With others of their own pack, it is assumed that through body language and the connection with the elements that this is still possible. As well, the shifted wolf is never larger than their original form in their shifted form and any debilitations that they might suffer in one form are directly transferred to that same area on the other. No "natural healing" is given by the ability to shapeshift. Finally, a wolf has a choice on how their pelt colors appear in this form. They may retain normal coloration that they had while a wolf, or a wolf may choose to simply manifest as a normally colored animal of that type. The eyes of the wolf never change color, however, to symbolize the ties that remain with the element.
Rite of the Free Spirit: (The Sacred Rite) This Rite causes a feolan to permanently lose their ethereal wings of flight, and by doing so, they lose the ability to fly in such a manner. In order to become a true free spirit, a feolan must first pick a small piece off of their own ethereal wings and dip it in the water at the edge of the Quartz Peaks where the land meets the ocean. The piece of wing will be possessed by a blue aura around it that will indicate when it will be ready. Then, the wolf must walk the feather all of the way to the foci and lay it besides the foci offering it as a token symbolizing his wings. As the wing piece slowly fades away, so will the feolan's wings as they lose the ability to manifest them and as consequence disable their flight momentarily. As the short moment passes, a sudden gust of wind surrounds and engulfs the feolan as he gains the ability to become the air itself instead.
~~When the Feolan uses this charm, he loses his physical form, becoming as ethereal as the wind about. In this manner, he must be in constant movement at all times, as in the moment they still they will immediately solidify into their normal shape. This ability of course, grants them incredible access to speed while moving along the wind currents, enabling him to move four times as fast as he could while in normal flight! As well, he might fit through smaller passages, having no form that will hinder him. However, he is not in a solid form and thus cannot affect anything by his passage, nor can anything affect him either. As well, the wolf may not solidify in a space that does not support the wolf's size even if he tries by remaining still. It becomes more complicated to travel through wind currents as well as they occasionally shift and change. It takes a lot of time after this rite to completely master the art of reading wind currents and directions as air. One must always be thinking quickly or fear being carried away on a wrong current!
